How do I transfer my QODBC license to a new PC?

When you purchase a new computer and are ready to install QODBC, you will need to transfer your QODBC license. To do this, you will need:

  • Your QODBC CD Key activation code
  • Access to the ‘old’ PC with the active (licensed) QODBC installation
  • An active Internet connection

On the ‘old’ PC with the active QODBC installation do the following:

  1. Click Start > All Programs > QODBC Driver for use with QuickBooks
  2. Click QODBC Setup Screen
  3. Click the Activate/Deactivate tab
  4. Click the Deactivate button and the Deactivate window will appear
  5. Enter your CD Key in the CD Key field and press the Deactivate button
  6. Click OK to exit the QODBC Setup Screen

Your QODBC license will be removed and the license deactivated ready for re-use within 24 hours.  When the license is ready for re-use, you will receive an email from the QODBC licensing server.  Once you have received your advisory email from the QODBC licensing server you can Activate QODBC using the following steps:

 

If QODBC is not installed on the ‘new’ PC:
  1. Install QODBC on the new PC
  2. Enter the CD Key when prompted during the installation process
If QODBC is already installed on the ‘new’ PC as an evaluation copy
  1. Click Start > All Programs > QODBC Driver for use with QuickBooks
  2. Click QODBC Setup Screen
  3. Click the Activate/Deactivate tab
  4. Click the Activate button and the Activate window will appear
  5. Enter your CD Key in the CD Key field and press the Activate button
  6. Click OK to exit the QODBC Setup Screen

 

If you do not have access to the PC with the active (licensed) QODBC installation you will not be able to transfer the license.
